An MOU Signing ceremony was held at TMUC Islamabad Campus between the Centre for Law and Security (CLAS), The Millennium Universal College (TMUC), and National Institute of Maritime Affairs (NIMA) on 29th January, 2025.

Pakistan’s maritime potential can be maximized through investment in maritime security and a strong blue economy, emphasized Vice Admiral (Retd.) Ahmad Saeed, President of the National Institute of Maritime Affairs (NIMA), during the signing of an MoU.

The collaboration aims to advance maritime research, education and policy development. Vice Admiral Saeed highlighted the crucial role of institutions like TMUC and CLAS in fostering expertise for maritime security and economic growth. Dr. Faisal Mushtaq, CEO of TMUC and Rehman Azhar, Executive Director of CLAS, welcomed the partnership, stressing its potential to shape Pakistan’s maritime sector.

Dr. Faisal Mushtaq underscored TMUC’s nationwide academic network supporting maritime research, while Rehman Azhar outlined CLAS’s contributions to legal and security frameworks. Ambassador Sardar Masood Khan praised NIMA’s progress in maritime policy and research, noting TMUC and CLAS’s role in supporting strategic initiatives.

The MoU, signed by Vice Admiral Saeed and Ambassador Khan, formalizes cooperation on maritime security, the blue economy and international maritime law.
